I did it!!!

I now have a tattoo!!! It's soooo beautiful. I'll post pictures later when its healed....it took 4 hours!! I had no idea it would take that long, but there is so much detail. Did it hurt? Yes. It was ok for the first couple of hours, but it had to be outlined in black, shaded in black, then more detail in grey shading and finally white highlighting to make it look more three dimensional and by the time we got to the grey shading bit it was getting quite sore. The white was very painful. It's quite sore this morning, but not too bad. Overall it should be healed in two weeks though :o) I'm so pleased I finally had it done.

The image is a raven in flight, Lauren (the tattooist...thanks again morbidfrog) put in an astounding amount of detail in the feathers and the eye. It's stunning. Although, since it's on my lower back I can't actually see it all that well!! Ravens are soooo pretty....

Very cool - do you have to keep it dry for 2 weeks? I know little of the mechanics of post-tattoo care, but its something I'll have to know about if I'm going to get one and not disrupt my training too much.

For me the pain wasn't so bad but I utterly hate the noise of the gun. Its kinda like a dentist drill to me now.
