The police are saying they suspect the bus explosion was the action of a suicide bomber. Goddess help us all if that's true...

Worse - suicide bombers are much harder to spot than unattended bags like the IRA used to use.

Glad you're ok, honey. I don't know many people who work in the areas worst affected, but I'm waiting for a couple of people to check in. My parents are relieved that I haven't started that placement in London yet, even though I assured them I wouldn't have been anywhere near the blasts. My heart goes out to the families of those who weren't so lucky....

Yes, I'm quite shaky too - I put the news on this morning on mute and first thing I saw was a blown-up bus right at the end of the road where I used to work, about 50 yards from the office. Plus a couple of friends work in other areas affected including one who actually heard the bus blow up! I hate this, especially now I've got children it makes me so angry. What right have these people got to blow up people completely unconnected with the problem they are protesting about? It makes me think seriously about moving out of London somewhere less likely to be a target. sadaprilsky reassures me that it is highly unilkely we'll get caught up in this kind of thing and I know that's true but it's just one more danger for those I love.
