I'm baaack! Did I miss anything??
Probably time for an update...
Thursday - Travelling. Lots of it.
jussard and his gf Claire spent Wednesday night at mine, and J came up in the morning so
magpie_queen could pick us all up from the same place and drive us all to Whitters. It took her 2.5 hours just to cross London to get to mine!! Traffic was terrible and we got to Whitby about 9.30 pm. Poor E had been driving for nearly 10 hours :o( We went to the Buck for a quick drink (after meeting up with
sheridanwilde and unloading stuff) but didn't stay long as we were knackered.
Friday - Wristbands and shopping!! I bought hair :o) See photos later... After shopping we had lunch at the Resolution and then probably went to the pub. I don't actually remember. Cooked chinese in the evening and then onto the Spa. Now, it has to be said the music wasn't really what I wanted on the first night...The Modern were ok, I've not heard them before but quite liked what they sounded like. Katscan, well, I think we were standing too close to the speakers (I nearly went deaf) and I didn't really like them. We went upstairs to sit down for a bit at this point, and then J noticed through the glass that the lead singer from Mechanical Caberet's trousers were falling down and the prospect of nearly naked men lured us back into the hall. Can't actually remember what they sounded like though, but we can't have been too impressed as we didn't stay long. Dr and the Medics didn't play a single orignal track I don't think, just a whole string of really quite bad 80s cover tracks, not my thing. A good day though, I really enjoyed it, but it was a shame
sheridanwilde didn't join us in the Spa.

Us ready to go out
A nice photo of me for once...
Saturday - more shopping, to pick up more new hair, then lunch at Sherlocks which is a new coffee shop Sheridan discovered. It was fab. It's on Flowergate, not far from the Elsie, everyone should go in April. They even had vegan food :o) Quiet afternoon, some drinking, and then out to the Spa again. This evening was much more to my taste, in fact it contained 2 of my favourite bands :o).
Neon Zoo were first on and they were awesome. It was sooo good to hear them with something a bit more powerful than a practice PA in a sizeable venue for once! I thought they played a really good set, although it was a bit of a shaky start with Monster - they finished with my favourite track (Darkest Dance) which was great. I bounced lots. J accused me of scampering at one point, although I can't remember why!

Deathboy were up next and they were also very very good. They played Black Morning, which is a favourite track of mine, and finished with We Will Destroy. There was more bouncing. So much bouncing I nearly broke my feet. But it was stunning.
Sat down for a bit at this point and missed Rico's set (feet hurt tooooooo much, should take flat boots next time). Went back down for NFD, but I wasn't really in the mood for them. It was a shame as I had been looking forward to seeing them, but after all the electro-bouncy stuff, NFD just wasn't really what I was in the frame of mind for. And they were a bit drunk. As usual.

E and J
Sunday - Now. E, J and Sheridan went out for a walk in the morning....and Sheridan fell over, broke his wrist and ended up at Whitby hospital. Good news for the football team as it meant they felt inclined to get through the whole match without any of them getting broken, but did put a bit of a dampner on our day. Particularly Sheridan's of course. Bummer. J wasn't feeling too good either, so E and Sheridan and I went to Gatsby's for lunch whilst she slept and then went to the pub. Sheridan and I then went to watch the footie, which was hilarious!! We lost 8-1 (ish), Mr Uwins wasn't playing on this occasion after getting soooo badly broken last time, but I thought he was going to give himself a heart attack playing manager ;o) The heckling was great though, I really enjoyed it. Wandered back home, had food, then J and I went to 80s night at Laughtons for a bit. Didn't stay too long but had a bit of a dance...we left as they got out a skipping rope though!
All in all, it was a very good weekend, and exactly what I needed. I'm feeling much better about work and stuff now, and think I can actually face the rest of the year. It was good to see Sheridan, and all the other people around, and there were a couple of good band sets so I was happy. :o) *bounce* And I have new hair!!! *bounce*
So, back to work on Wednesday. As of November I'm giving up drinking for at least a month (I'm actually aiming for 6 *snigger* I'll be lucky to manage one). That should be interesting. I know, I always say this when I get back from Whitters, but I mean it this time. I'm just finishing the last bottle of red in the house as I write this and then that's it. No more. For 6 months. honest. Probably won't be at M:Alice tomorrow, not working so not in town, but will be at Dead and Buried on Friday, guess I'll see you all there :o)
