How do I get my pc (running XP - it's at work obviously) to give me a chime on the hour? Or pop a little message up with the time? My mac does this very easily and I'm sure I've managed it on my Ubuntu box without too much trouble but XP seems entirely void of this functionality. Need a reminder each hour to take 5 mins to stretch my wrists out.

Please don't suggest I put lots of alarms in my Outlook calendar - its function as a calendar would be impaired with all that cluttering it up. And it's public and the rest of my staff might start thinking I'm weird. Well, weirder...

Thanks!

Given that the filing cabinet labelled "HR Records" I've been sorting through all morning doesn't actually contain anything related to HR I suppose I will be discovering them instead this afternoon in the filing cabinet marked "Org Stuff". I guess org stuff could be anything really. Maybe it's got penguins in it. That could be cute (or dangerous...thing hasn't been opened since I got here so they'd be pretty angry). My predecessor was an idiot. The few HR records I have discovered this morning are print-outs of emails from members of staff asking for specific days off. Need to be in the organisational archive? I think not.

ION I am not *quite* as angry as I was yesterday...probably because I didn't sleep well again and am exhausted. Also I have a headache but I've now given in and taken some painkillers so hopefully it'll bugger off soon.

There will be pub later.

No pengiuns in the filing cabinet. Just lots of paper of which maybe 10% is of use for something other than kindling. And I've chipped my nail varnish sorting it all out. And my back hurts. Can has pub nao plx?
