(no subject)

I've distinctly gone off November. One of my mother's cats died last night, in her sleep at the vets. My mother rang me in tears last night and told me she wasn't going to make it (she fell ill on Monday, seemed to be improving Tuesday, but then seemed to give up completely on Wednesday) and said the vets were going to try and keep her alive until my sister could go in and say goodbye this morning. Apparently that wasn't possible. It's sad; my mother and sister are very upset. I've not lived with those cats for a long time (I moved out in 1996) but it's weird to think she won't be there next time I go over. The other cat is currently in a lead lined box in Canterbury after being pumped full of radioactive iodine to cure a thyroid problem. She's going to be confused when she comes home to find Zoe gone.

One of my ponies is also ill. Doll is quite elderly and although the vet seems optimistic about her recovering I can't say I share his opinion. But he's the vet so I guess I should trust him really. *sigh*

Work this week has been hellish; the company AGM is on Saturday and since I'm company secretary this has generated a huge amount of work. On top of the all the planning for the office move. I can't really complain as I set all the dates involved, but I must say I will be glad to have a day off at some point soon...I'm currently sitting at my desk designing all the OpenOffice Presentation slides (not Powerpoint slides obviously. M$ is evil and must die) for the meeting which is a tedious thing to be doing at 7pm.

More positively The Prestige is brilliant and you should all go and see it. Breaking and Entering isn't bad either :o) Also I haven't had an alcoholic drink since the 1st of November. Given the phenomenal amount of stress I've been under recently I think that's pretty impressive.
