I appriecate very few of you knew I'd broken it, but it's a great relief to have managed to have fixed it none-the-less.

The weekend was much more fun that I'd anticipated. Work on Saturday was dull (so dull I had time to break my laptop) but that was more than compensated for by a very pleasant evening in Islington in the company of [livejournal.com profile] andyravensable. Didn't quite wake up when I'd planned to on Sunday though (apologies to [livejournal.com profile] urban_witch for missing the film), but I did make it over to West London to [livejournal.com profile] nimstar and [livejournal.com profile] mikey_altered's showing of Paradise Lost. Now, the West Memphis 3 case was not something I knew much about before yesterday but I can now see why people are so appalled by the whole thing. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, then I suggest you go <a href="http://www.wm3.org>here</a> and find out. It was a bit of an intense way to spend a Sunday afternoon though and left me feeling a bit, hm, actually I'm not sure what the word is. I almost want to say drained, but that's not quite right. Thanks to Nim and Mikey for food and drink and awareness raising (if a little noisely at times) and good to see the rest of you that were there! Today has been quite productive. I showed the head project managers a prototype of the new database and they actually liked it. Bit of a relief that, I'm terrified half the staff are going to hate this new system that we've spent over a year building...anyway, I should finish setting up this laptop and then perhaps do some real work...
