In search of sleep
Mar. 21st, 2005 08:31 pmI still can't sleep. It's beginning to get very annoying, it's not like I'm unused to insomnia - I've suffered from it since I was a child, but it's been much worse recently and just leaves me feeling exhausted and lifeless almost constantly. I find I have very little motivation for anything, which is a problem because I have a huge amount of work to do and very little time in which to do it. *sigh* I'm thinking about going to see a herbalist, I'm certainly not going anywhere near a doctor, I've spent enough of my life on sleeping pills and anti-depressants thank you!
Anyway, the weekend was actually very pleasant. I didn't do any work at any point which was nice but didn't help my stress levels. Spent Saturday just generally bumming about the flat doing washing and cleaning and stuff, then went to pick up the keys to my allotment in the afternoon. Ended up chatting to Cath for nearly 4 hours so didn't get to do any of the other things I had intended to do, but had a nice afternoon's bitching instead ;o)
Sunday - got up early to watch the GP, not a bad race, keep those Ferraris at the back that's what I say!! Was very brave Sunday afternoon - went to Bibliogoth all on my own. Everyone was really nice and the discussion of the book was very interesting. It's fascinating to find that something you thought was totally obvious really isn't to other people, or that they thought the same passage said something completely different. It was very enjoyable - once again I am amazed by the widespread nature of the Children of Artemis, a couple of people actually recongised me from when my photo was in the mag over a year ago! Bizarre. Must have been a good picture. :o)
Today though, I feel drained and unmotivated. I'm not going into work tomorrow even though I should really - going to go in on Friday when everyone else is out and install Fetchmail, and Cyrus IMAP and hopefully get Samba to talk a bit more nicely to the XP box now present in the marketing department. I know how it feels, I don't really want to be nice to the XP box either...
