Now, I feel much better. My holiday was great! :o)

I spent 2 days in Milton Keynes - it was good to chill and spend some time with friends, but I have to say the city itself is horrible. I didn't like it at all, it was just dead spiritually. Very soulless place. *Shudders* You wouldn't catch me living there! Good cycling facilities though, so I suppose you can forgive it something...

Once I left MK I cycled 53 miles on the first day up to Harbury via Banbury. The first day was hard work - I had a head wind all the way and it took me a while to find my stride. Cycled up to the top of Burton Dassett though, that was very satisfying. Spent the night with my Nanna and Grandpa who took me out for dinner, so that was good.

Next day only cycled 35 miles from Harbury to Stow on the Wold, via the Rollright Stones. My knees were beginning to hurt after I think I overdid it the day before, so I took it fairly easy. It rained quite a lot that morning so I got very wet - thank God for Gortex!!! The Rollrights were amazing. Then energy in the circle was awesome, and the view wasn't bad either. Spent the night in the youth hostel at Stow, which was very nice - had a whole dorm to myself.

The day after was the best day. I cycled 63 miles from Stow to Streatley, the morning was 30 miles of fantastic rolling English countryside. Bit of up bit of down, but nothing too strenuous. The weather was perfect, sunny, not too hot with a bit of a tail wind. The last 20 miles was much harder work, but the countryside was beautiful! I cycled up 2 x 14% hills, which I'm very proud of! I did have to get off and walk up one hill, but that was more because my knees got quite painful than the steepness of the hill. I was exhausted by the time I reached the YH at Streatley, but had a very pleasant evening chatting to a German guy called Michael about various environmental issues and veganism.

Yesterday, I set out with the intention of cycling home, which would have been 60 odd miles, but my knees were so painful on the 10 mile downhill cycle into Reading I decided it wouldn't be a good idea and got the train. Bit disappointed, but the weather was quite bad yesterday afternoon so I think it was probably the right decision. I need to sort my knees out before I do this again!!

So now I'm home. Feeling refreshed and relaxed, but have a lot of things to sort out!! Anyone know anyone who wants to live in Croydon??? I had to evict my flat mate before I went away for non-payment of rent, so now I need to find another one before I run out of money!! If anyone knows anyone, then please let me know. I also need to fill in my tax return, I've been meaning to do it for ages....back to reality it is then....
